Pro Bono Representation for Survivors of Domestic Violence

Survivors of domestic violence in Monongalia and Preston Counties may be eligible for representation at domestic violence protection orders through attorneys who work pro bono (without charge).

Legal Aid provides free legal assistance to those who qualify. If you qualify, the Domestic Violence Assistance Program provides free legal services including representation at final protective order hearings in family court. If a volunteer attorney is available, they may be able to speak with you prior to the hearing to help you prepare for the hearing; appear at the final hearing on your behalf; and possibly provide related legal assistance in other matters such as divorce, child custody, or other legal issues. Legal Aid cannot guarantee services or representation to all eligible clients.

We have a number of resources on our website at www.lawv.net. If you want to see if you qualify for our services, you may call (304) 296-0001 to complete an application.
